Over the last 12 years the Harwich Chamber of Commerce and the Harwich Chamber Charitable Foundation has donated over $85,000 in scholarships to graduating seniors from Harwich.  Seniors that have gone on to Massachusetts Maritime Academy, Maine Maritime Academy, UMASS, University of New Hampshire, Suffolk University, University of Pennsylvania and many more.  We have had people go into Fire Science, Accounting, Business, Medicine, Attorneys, Investment Advisors and several other programs.

There are a few things all of these students have in common, first is a need and second is a desire.  Each of the students receiving a scholarship has to demonstrate a need for the money, and for many this may be a make or break chance at continuing their education.  Second is desire.  These students have thrived in High School Academia and continue to do so through college as we monitor their grades closely.  Many of our scholarships are over multiple years and they all require submission of grades for payment.  In addition, students must show an exemplary level of volunteerism to be considered for a scholarship.  We have had volunteers at the Family Pantry of Cape Cod, the various libraries throughout town, peer mentors, sports camps, Cape Cod Theatre and many other non-profits.  We encourage them to continue on with their volunteer service and many of them take on a philanthropic role later on in life.

Did you know that in 2016, the average cost of an in-state four year public college was $24,610 and for a private college it was $49,320?  That puts an in-state public college at over $100,000 with inflation each year and a private college at over $200,000 for four years.  That is up to $555 per month without adding interest for 30 YEARS.  These students need our help.

The Harwich Chamber of Commerce Charitable Foundation had their annual meeting at L’Alouette by Christian. Not only were we delighted by a delicious dinner, but Foundation President John Blute delighted us with original rap lyrics introducing the Harwich Committee of 100. A fundraising drive to raise money for Monomoy Regional School District and Cape Cod Regional Technical High School Scholarships. The Committee of 100 is looking for people to donate $100 or $10 our month to benefit local kids. Tax deductible donations can be made to HCC Charitable Foundation C/O Harwich Chamber of Commerce 1 Schoolhouse Road Harwich Port, MA 02646.

In an effort to continue the tradition of helping  students pay the daunting task of their college education, the Harwich Chamber of Commerce Charitable Foundation has created the Committee of 100.  We are asking 100 people/businesses to donate either $100 or $10 per month towards our foundation to offer Scholarships to graduating seniors from Monomoy Regional High School and Cape Cod Regional Technical High School.  Every little bit helps.  There are several ways to do so, you can donate online through our website, you can fill out the paper form, or you can stop in and we can do it at the office, any way you do it your help is appreciated.
